| 摘要： | The famous British statistician George Edward Pelham Box once told, "All models are wrong, some are useful". Although primarily told in the context of statistical models, the aphorism is applicable to all scientific models and traffic model can be no exception. Notwithstanding the shortcomings/limitations of the traffic models, there is no better mechanism to assess performance/impacts of intervention(s) to the road system. But jt is extremely important that we must have our own simulation software to suit indigenous conditions and there should be indigenous research to accurately model various attributes of Indian traffic and road scenario. |
