摘要: Basic stabilization mechanisms in lime treated clay soils are (1) cation exchange, (2) flocculation and aggomeration, (3) pozzolanic reaction, and (4) carbonation. Little (1987) and Little (1984) and Little (1994) explain these reactions in detail. This report will not attempt to review the mechanisms of lime stabilization in detail. However, it is pertinent to review the basic physical property changes that occur upon the addition of lime to soil.
