AS SOME ORGANIZATIONS WORK TO BALANCE a higher volume of smaller, more personalized orders with a persistent labor shortage and the need to do more with less, the labels that connect the digital infrastructure with physical shipments are taking center stage. Tasked with properly identifying goods as they move from the point of manufacture to end user, labels not only ensure a streamlined supply chain, but they also proactively eliminate the potential for mislabeling, enables the smooth flow of goods through the supply chain, and help companies avoid customer compliance fines. For many companies, the art of shipment labeling is still largely left up to chance as they patch together disparate software solutions in hopes that they will meet their organizations' growing labeling needs. Over time, these patchworked systems only serve to cause confusion and delays while giving shippers very little visibility into their enterprise labeling approaches. This leads to a high number of data errors, high maintenance costs, customer fines (for non-compliance on the labeling front), and loss of business. |
