FOLLOWING AN EXECUTIVE ORDER issued by the White House in February that called for a 100-day review to identify near-term steps it can take "to address vulnerabilities in the supply chain," the White House recently issued its key findings. The results focused specifically on supply chain operations in four critical product areas, including: semiconductor manufacturing and advanced packaging; large capacity batteries, such as those used for electric vehicles; critical minerals and materials; and active pharmaceutical ingredients. "The supply chain reviews reinforce the need for the transformative investments proposed in the President's American Jobs Plan," stated the White House. "These efforts are critical because, as the pandemic and resulting economic crisis have shown, structural weaknesses in both domestic and international supply chains threaten America's economic and national security." |
