| 摘要： | P0420/P0430 (Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold, Bank 1/2) diagnostic trouble codes are set by the engine control module (ECM) when it has determined that the converter is no longer able to do its job. It does this by comparing (on most vehicles) the upstream oxygen sensor (or air fuel sensor) signal to the downstream oxygen sensor signal. If the signal activity of the sensors mirror one another, the ECM sees that as a fault and records the ap- propriate code. The problem is that the ECM doesn't know if it's being lied to. Other factors can come into play that will affect these signals and could cause the ECM to set a false code. The tech's first job, then, is to verify that the converter is indeed bad. |
