To follow up on my post from yesterday, let me ask you this: let's say this was my Lexus SUV and I wanted to get insurance quotes. I picked the exact same deductibles, same coverages and same policy limits with 10 companies. When I got back their monthly premium bids, would they all be the exact same? Why wouldn't they be, it's all the same coverage? Of course not! Just because a business is considered a 'body shop' doesn't mean it should all be paid the same rate. My wife can open a body shop today at a closed-down Blockbuster video store and insurance companies will want to pay her the exact same they pay me to install a BMW quarter panel. It doesn't matter that she has never fixed a car, has no tools, no training, no certifications, but she's a 'body shop.' Yet when our shop that has spent hundreds of thousands on all those items demands a higher rate, we're labeled as difficult to work with. Anyone else see the major dilemma here? Just food for thought on this Wednesday morning. For that reason, our team will always fight to be paid for what we are worth and we will not apologize for it. |
