I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. We are at the point where places, events and states are now reopening for business and gatherings. This just makes things better for IMSA. In Columbus, Ohio on August 2-4 we will have our Forum and Expo. Finally, an in person event! We will also celebrate 125 years of providing certification, education, and information to all areas in public safety. I'm looking forward to seeing many of you again! It seems like forever ago since we have all been together. As I stated in the last issue, if things began to open up, I would be travelling. First stop was Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Not all things were open yet and many places are having a hard time getting help. While I was there, I had a meeting with the New England Section Membership Committee. Many of our Section Members hoped that we would have had our Annual School and Conference in April. Unfortunately, Massachusetts still had too many restrictions in place which preventing us from having it. The Committee feels with everything starting to come back to pre-Covid-19 that we might be able to have in person Section Meetings in September and December. The Committee also reviewed our membership roster for years of service awards. In the photo is the Committee, from left to right, myself; Richard DeMello, Section Second Vice President; Tim Soverino, Section First Vice President and Vice Chairman, Council of Delegates. As we were discussing things that happened over the years, between the three of us we have a combined service of over 140 years to the IMSA. |
