摘要：	The spacing and placement of reflectorized channelizing devices and pavement markings used to maintain traffic through special geometric situations in highway work zones were evaluated from the driver's view. The channelizers used included cones, drums, barricades, vertical panels and concrete barrier curbs. The pavement markings used included removable tape and raised markers. The special geometric situations evaluated were: horizontal and vertical curves, relocated ramps, and pavement dropoffs. The study was limited to short term and long term maintenance and construction activities performed day and night, dry and wet on roadways with posted speed limits of 55 miles per hour. A driver review of slides showing experimental treatments on an unopened highway and a driver review of videos showing improved spacing and placement schemes in work zones were performed to determine and verify spacing and placement recommendations by the experienced professionals.
