When 3M Optically Programed Signals are in service, indications cannot be seen by drivers not meant to see them. You "beam" indication visibility precisely where you want it-without the use of troublesome external hoods or louvers. To drivers outside the visibility pattern you've set up for a specific signal, the signal appears to be off. This is true even for parallel lane situations and the tightest skews.HOW DOES IT WORK?You optically program the signal to be seen only in the specific road area you want it to serve. Here's how:1. You open the signal head from the back, exposing an inverted image of the entire road area facing the signal.2. With 3M Optical Masking Tape, you simply mask off areas of the image which correspond to roadway areas where the indication should not be visible. Masking results in no changes in intensity or uniformity for drivers in the programed area. |
