By ensuring digital and physical systems remain safe, reliable, and functioning, they ensure first responders can travel over well-maintained roads, use water supplies to extinguish fires, and access electrical grids without delay, among other core functions of their response. These municipality services play an even more important role when cities and towns face major threats - whether natural disasters, major accidents, or a global pandemic. In these times of need, public safety officials look to the municipality's service sectors to restore critical systems and infrastructure. Coordination and communication between these groups are essential . in those moments. That's why many cities are looking to FirstNet, the nationwide public safety broadband network, for a secure, reliable way to communicate among both public safety officials and city service operators.
