Like her, as a child, I used to find comfort in the sound of an occasional vehicle passing outside, a sign that the world was still spinning in the otherwise long, still hours of the night. Which is far from saying that either of us wanted to live in a high traffic neighbourhood, with all-day noise and poor air quality. Does anyone?But, just like speed cameras back in the day, the roll-out of low traffic neighbourhoods is reported to be sparking a debate between motorists and residents. Except, of course, that most of us are the same - sometimes home dwellers, sometimes drivers. |
