| 摘要： | After decades of campaigning, environmental sustainability has found its way into mainstream politics on a global scale, with US president Joe Biden promising a 'decisive decade' for tackling climate change in which the United States will drastically cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. On this side of the pond, prime minister Boris Johnson announced his Government's '10-Point Plan' for the UK to achieve its net zero emissions target by 2050, which includes the ban on the sale of all petrol and diesel cars by 2030. Both leaders would be happy with the progress that has been made in the world of road sign solutions, as companies such as SWARCO Traffic are increasingly harnessing renewable energy sources, most notably solar and wind, to power the signs that play such a key part in keeping our motorists safe. In more remote parts of the UK, Cornwall and the north of Scotland for example, off-grid solutions are the only option. |
