The collapse into administration of Vital Infrastructure Asset Management (VIAM) - formally King Construction - has hit highways contracts in at least three councils across the North West. Liverpool City Council suffered the biggest hit as VIAM was working on four projects in the city. A spokesperson for Liverpool said: 'As a result of VIAM going into administration, Liverpool City Council can confirm it has now terminated contracts with the company on four existing highways schemes in the city. 'Our first priority is to ensure the health and safety for road users and council highway officers have been appointed to monitor and assess these sites.' |
