摘要: This paper describes a discrete continuous Tobit model of activity participation and duration. The model extends existing models by accounting for multiple activities and the effect of travel time needed for activity participation on time allocation. The effect of travel time was operationalized by incorporating the travel time ratio into the time allocation procedure. The model was tested on a Dutch data set and appears to outperform less advanced models. The model provides a useful tool for assessing the effect of spatial and transportation policies on individuals‘ time allocation and their ability to realize so-called latent activities.
