King's Lynn & West Norfolk Borough Council has agreed to the redevelopment of its Hunstanton bus station. Principal user Lynx Buses offered to buy the site to ensure its continued use as a bus station. The four-stand facility, with layover space, is believed to date from around 50 years ago and came into its own during the period of competition between Lynx and Stagecoach, which had taken over Norfolk Green. The council rejected Lynx's offer, and the bus station is to be replaced by a development including 47 flats. On-street stops will be provided instead, but will only be capable of accommodating a maximum of three buses. |
