One of the last vehicles ordered by the National Bus Company before it was broken up and privatised has been saved for preservation. Ben Rogers, whose father Dave is a noted collector of British-built buses from Hong Kong, has acquired former Bee Line 772 (E452 CGM), one of six 55-seat integral Duple 425 coaches new in November 1987 for the Reading-Heathrow RailAir service. Bee Line, formed when Alder Valley was split in two in January that year, was sold to Q-Drive the month after these coaches were delivered. |
