First South West is further expanding its fully commercial Cornwall by Kernow network [Buses last month) with three new leisure routes in Newquay and a new Helston hub Lizard branded network with five spokes. The operator lost seven Helston and six Newquay supported routes to Go South West in the major March 2020 council retendering, leaving it with just an hourly U4 (Penzance-Falmouth) serving Helston last summer. From May 16 it adds an hourly open-top L1 to Lizard serving the spectacular peninsula using two Dennis Trident/Plaxton President part open-tops previously used on the Bristol Insight Tour. Beginning on the same date is the hourly L3 to Truro restoring faster main road services and an hourly L5 to Hayle and St Ives creating new cross-county links. |
