Richard Walter's name will be familiar to many readers from photographs published in this magazine, Buses Yearbook and several of Amberley Publishing's paperback picture albums. Now retired from working for the NHS, he is a prolific photographer who first trained a Kodak box camera on buses in his native Edinburgh in the 1970s, graduated from prints to colour transparencies, and in 2008 from film to digital. Like many enthusiasts, he has travelled widely around the British Isles in pursuit of his hobby and has taken holidays abroad, especially in places where British-built or British-looking double-deckers could be found. |
