The first of this year's annual handbooks on the big groups both have the same number of pages as the 2020 editions, but the relative length of their indexes gives a clue to how the fleets have altered in size in a period overshadowed by a global pandemic. First's clearly has shrunk, as it again takes up 32 pages but has four half-page pictures where there were none before, while Go-Ahead's index - still unillustrated - has grown from 21 to 23 pages thanks partly to expansion in Cornwall. The index only covers its fleets in England, while the main listings again include operations in Ireland and Singapore. Electric vehicles feature increasingly in both groups' operations and pictures in the Go-Ahead book include four of the Yutong electrics in Singapore, three of those shown being double-deckers to a style also expected to appear in the UK. |
