When the Isle of Man eases lockdown conditions and reopens its border to visitors from the rest of the British Isles and beyond, there will be some radical changes to behold, not least on the Douglas Promenades, which are being given a complete refurbishment while there are no tourists around. As Richard Cranmer's recent picture of a Bus Vannin StreetDeck next to the sea walls shows, this major work has had a profound effect on locals, with the northern section of the roads made one-way (northbound) for three months last year, and the southbound roadway moved to the promenade walkway on the southern section since last July. |
