He reminds us of the relative cost of photography 40 and more years ago and the need to send slide films off for processing. I will always remember the excitement of a small yellow box landing through the letterbox and eagerly checking the results of my efforts with some trepidation. This is a book with something for everyone; there is extensive coverage of independents, including many long gone operators such as Bickers of Coddenham, Caroline Seagull of Great Yarmouth, Dack's of Terrington St Clement, Mulley's of Ixworth, Premier Travel, Rules of Boxford and Theobald's of Long Melford, along with those still around today like Beestons and Delaine. |
