摘要: Hertfordshire County Council has used government-allocated funding from the Better Bus Fund to improve services in the county. The DfT launched the fund in February 2020, shortly before the start of the Covid pandemic. Overtaken by events, most authorities were allowed to use the money to support contracted services following the collapse in demand. Hertfordshire was allocated £400,000, which has been used to add a Sunday service to routes 97/98 (Hitchin-Baldock) and evening journeys on route 500 between Watford, Hemel Hempstead and Aylesbury. It has also introduced a new hourly seven days a week service between Hertford and Welwyn Garden City, with the 324 number emphasising its complementarity to Arriva's 724 Green Line service, with which it is coordinated. All of the routes are operated by Arriva and began operation at the end of May.
