| 摘要： | The Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust prepared for a hopeful resumption of public activities by taking one of its two preserved Glasgow Corporation Leyland Titan PD3/2s on shakedown drive around the city's West End on May 23. Alexander-bodied L405 (SGD 407) is one of 140 similar forward-entrance PD3s (one was a PD3A/2 with St Helens-style bonnet and grille and 25 had similar bodies assembled the corporation's tramcar works) delivered in 1960-62 mainly to replace trams on busy cross-city routes. It entered service in November 1960 when bus service 60 replaced tram service 23. L405, which is in the GWT collection along with similar L446 (SGD 448) from 1961, had not been driven for some time but will take part in a second spectator-only Centre Circle Day (see Rally Calendar Update below) on Saturday June 26 if the Scottish government eases Covid-19 restrictions before then. |
