摘要: First Group-owned Greyhound has ceased its domestic operations in Canada. This leaves only cross-border services between the USA and Canada, which are currently suspended due to the pandemic, as the only services in Canada carrying the Greyhound brand. The company cited 'sustained ridership declines in Ontario and Quebec' as the reasoning for the decision, along with the impact of Covid-19, and ceased its remaining six routes. The remaining cross-border services are Toronto to New York, Toronto to Buffalo, Montreal to New York, Montreal to Boston and Vancouver to Seattle. These are operated by Greyhound Lines, Inc. (USA), which is a separate entity from Greyhound Canada. Stuart Kendrick, Senior Vice President, Greyhound Canada, said: "We deeply regret the impact this has on our staff and our customers, as well as the communities we have had the privilege of serving for many years. "A full year without revenue has unfortunately made it impossible to continue operations. Thank you to our dedicated staff for their commitment and service, and to our customers for choosing Greyhound Canada during better times. The company remains committed to honouring its labour agreements with employees and funding the commitments to our pension plan participants."
