| 摘要： | Municipally-owned Bernmobil has announced that it has placed an order for 15 Irizar ie Tram 18 articulated battery buses. Including fast-charging facilities, the order represents an investment of around CHF15m (£11.7m). Bern's order is expected to enter service in early 2023, when it will enable the conversion of routes 19 and 21 to electric operation. Bernmobil already runs five Hess lighTram articulated battery buses, together with 14 articulated and 14 12m trolleybuses from the same manufacturer. Most of Bernmobil's fleet of 131 motorbuses is gas-powered, including 21 hybrids. Only 33 buses are straight diesels, and the order from Irizar will reduce the operator's carbon output by 1,200 tonnes per year. There are already two Irizar ie Tram 18s running in Switzerland, which entered pilot service in Schaffhausen, in the north of the country, last autumn. The trial was successful enough that a further six are due to be delivered this summer, along with seven 12m versions. |
