摘要：	The primary objective of the project was to compare and evaluate the design criteria and standards currently used in naval and commercial ships for the hull and structural members. This report reviewed the basic concepts in several current ship and structures regulations. The design of bottom structure, as both local structure and as part of the hull girder was the specific focus. We expected to identify factors of safety in either the load or strength formulations or both. As well as identify the best practices that incorporate latest models of structural behavior that are adequately validated by theory and experimentation.
