| 摘要： | The International Road Federation (IRF) is urging a reduction in speed limits because roads are being designed for all types of users - drivers, pedestrians, cyclists.Around 3,000 children and young people are killed or seriously injured on the world's roads every day.A child hit by a car at 30kph could survive. But an increase in average speed of 1 kph results in a 3% higher risk of a crash and a 4-5% increase in fatalities, according to the IRF. The issue of lower speed limits is particularly important for the more vulnerable road users, those with disabilities and the elderly. |
