摘要: An assessment of the portable seismic pavement analyzer (PSPA) was conducted during the period February to April 2005 on three military airfields in order to determine the feasibility of rapidly obtaining the modulus and flexural strength of portland cement concrete and asphalt concrete pavements. The PSPA is a nondestructive testing device that measures seismic modulus using ultrasonic surface waves. The objective of this research is to evaluate the PSPA as an alternative to core sampling. This would potentially reduce the amount of time required for testing and eliminate the need for laboratory testing of concrete cores. This report provides (a) background information on the PSPA, (b) a summary of recent PSPA research, (c) test methods used in airfield evaluations, (d) field testing informafion, (e) data analysis, and (f) recommendations for utilizing flexural strength relationships. / NOTE: Final rept. / Supplementary Notes: The original document contains color images. / Availability Note: Product reproduced from digital image.
