On June 18, 2007, a petition was filed with the Commission and Commerce by Titan Tire Corporation, Des Moines, IA, and The United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union, AFL-CIO-CLC, Pittsburgh, PA., alleging that an industry in the United States is materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of subsidized and LTFV imports of certain off-the-road tires from China. Accordingly, effective June 18, 2007, the Commission instituted countervailing duty and antidumping investigation Nos. 701-TA-448 and 731-TA-1117 (Preliminary). Notice of the institution of the Commission's investigations and of a public conference to be held in connection therewith was given by posting copies of the notice in the Office of the Secretary, U.S. International Trade Commission, Washington, DC, and by publishing the notice in the Federal Register of June 22, 2007 (72 FR 34478). The conference was held in Washington, DC, on July 9, 2007, and all persons who requested the opportunity were permitted to appear in person or by counsel. / Availability Note: Order this product from NTIS by: phone at 1-800-553-NTIS (U.S. customers); (703)605-6000 (other countries); fax at (703)605-6900; and email at orders@ntis.gov.
