INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM PRELIMINARY TESTS ON FACTORS AFFECTING REBOUND AND CONCRETE PROPERTIES IS TO BE STUDIED AND TESTS CARRIED OUT ON A RIG, SO THAT FOR THE VARIOUS CONCRETES RECOMMENDATIONS CAN BE MADE FOR OPTIMUM MANUFACTURE. ADMIXTURES ARE TO BE STUDIED TO DETERMINE THEIR EFFECT ON MANUFACTURE, REBOUND AND STRENGTH, AND TO SEE WHETHER THEIR USE IS JUSTIFIED ECONOMICALLY. THE CONDUCTION OF THE PROGRAMME OF TESTS IN A SIMULATED TUNNEL MEANS THAT THE RESULTS CAN BE DIRECTLY APPLIED TO PRACTICAL CONDITIONS. AS REGARDS THE PRODUCTION OF STEEL FIBRE CONCRETE INITIAL MIXTURES, THE PROBLEM OF THE APPORTIONING OF THE STEEL FIBRES IS TO BE STUDIED TOGETHER WITH THE MIXING PROCESS. THE USE OF READY MIXED CONCRETE IS TO BE TESTED. |
