摘要: Field test data gathered by the US Army Corp of Engineers at Thermalito Dam was forwarded to the Water Resources Research Lab for analysis purposes. The USACE requested a similar analysis to what we had previously performed on the radial gates at Folsom Dam. The test data included both ambient flow excitation or the gate and a hard trigger excitation using the breaking of a cylindrical shear rod that tied the gate to the spillway surface near the centerline of the bottom seal. The analysis looked at both methods of excitation, and compared frequencies of vibration, damping characteristics, and deflection trajectories. Recommendations for further research are presented. / NOTE: Technical rept.
