摘要: THE TRAFFIC FLOW SIMULATION IS INTENDED TO SHOW HOW SPEED DISTRIBUTIONS FOR BUSES AND OTHER VEHICLES ARE CHANGED BY THE RAISING OF THE PERMISSIBLE MAXIMUM SPEED FOR BUSES. THE BEHAVIOUR OF VARIOUS TYPES OF VEHICLES UNDER THE EFFECTS OF STRUCTURAL, OPERATIONAL, TRAFFIC AND EXOGENOUS CONDITIONS IS TO BE EXAMINED AND COMPARED FOR BOTH THE ALTERNATIVE SPEED LIMITS FOR BUSES. THE BASIS IS AN ALREADY EXISTING SIMULATION MODEL DEVELOPED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF KARLSRUHE, INSTITUTE FOR TRAFFIC ENGINEERING. FOR THE PRESENT STUDY THE MODEL IS BEING MODIFIED, SUPPLEMENTED, AND CALIBRATED WITH THE RESULTS OF MEASUREMENTS OBTAINED IN OTHER RESEARCH. SEVERAL VARIABLES ARE BEING EXAMINED, WHICH DIFFER WITH RESPECT TO GRADIENT, TRAFFIC CONCENTRATION, PROPORTION OF LORRIES AND DESIRED SPEED OF THE BUSES. CRITERIA TO BE USED FOR EVALUATING THE TRAFFIC FLOW ARE JOURNEY TIME, OVERTAKING MANOEUVRES, LANE CHANGES, AND FORMATION OF BOTTLENECKS.
