摘要: THE AIM OF THE PLANNED RESEARCH IS TO WORK OUT BETTER DESIGN CRITERIA FOR FLEXIBLE, MEMBRANE-LIKE EMBANKMENT CULVERTS, WHICH TAKE ACCOUNT OF THE VARIABLE BEHAVIOUR OF NON-COHESIVE FILL MATERIALS USUALLY FOUND IN ROAD EMBANKMENTS. IT IS PLANNED TO CARRY OUT MODEL TESTS TO DETERMINE FRACTURE MECHANISMS AND CONVENTIONAL TESTS TO DETERMINE THE NON-LINEAR AND NON-ELASTIC BEHAVIOUR OF THE FILL MATERIAL.
