THE OBJECTIVE OF THE RESEARCH IS: TO DEFINE PROCESSES TO SLOW DOWN THE RISE OF CRACKS FROM ROADBASES STABILIZED WITH HYDRAULIC BINDERS TO WEARING COURSES; TO DEFINE METHODS OF MAINTAINING CRACKED WEARING COURSES. AT THE PRESENT TIME TESTS ON CRACK COMPACTION EQUIPMENT FACILITATED THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMMERCIAL MACHINE FOR THE RAPID FILLING UP OF ANY TYPE OF CRACKS. TESTS WERE CONDUCTED, IN WHICH NON-WOVEN MATERIAL WAS INSERTED AT THE INTERFACE OF THE CRACKED SURFACING AND NEW WEARING COURSE. IN 1979 IT IS ENVISAGED: TO CONTINUE CRACK FILLING TESTS WITH NEW PRODUCTS; TO CONTINUE OBSERVATIONS ON SITES BUILT IN 1978; TO STUDY THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CRACKED ROADBASE/MEMBRANE/WEARING COURSE SYSTEM; TO CONTINUE PRECRACKING TESTS. |
