摘要: TAKING THE EXAMPLE OF TEMPO 30 (SIGN 274 - PERMISSIBLE MAXIMUM SPEED 30 KM/H), AN EXAMINATION IS TO BE MADE OF THE HYPOTHESIS THAT DRIVERS TAKE MORE NOTICE OF A TRAFFIC SIGN IF THE ROAD AND TRAFFIC CONDITIONS APPEAR TO JUSTIFY THE SIGN. THE SPEED OF 100 DRIVERS IS BEING RECORDED BY RADAR ON 9 ROADS, BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER THE INTRODUCTION OF TEMPO 30. AFTER A THIRD MEASUREMENT ADDITIONAL SIGNS GIVING IN VERBAL FORM THE REASON FOR THE LIMIT ARE BEING ERECTED. THERE WILL THEN BE A FOURTH AND FIFTH SERIES OF MEASUREMENTS. THE OBJECT IS TO PROVIDE DATA ON THE SHORT AND LONG TERM EFFECTS OF TEMPO 30, AND THE EFFECTS OF THE ADDITIONAL SIGNS ON OBSERVANCE. OPINIONS OF DRIVERS ON THE LIMIT AND ON THE ADDITIONAL SIGNS ARE TO BE DETERMINED BY INTERVIEWS.
