摘要: THE OBJECT OF THE STUDIES IS TO ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS: WHY PRESTRESSING STEELS IN NORMALLY DENSE CONCRETE COVERS ARE NOT SUBJECT TO CRACKING; WHETHER, IF THE PH VALUE OF THE MOISTURE ON PRESTRESSING STEEL SURFACES IS REDUCED TO THE NEUTRAL LEVEL, CONDITIONS OCCUR UNDER WHICH ONE MUST RECKON ON THE PROBABILITY OF CRACKS OCCURRING; OR WHETHER PRESTRESSING STEEL CRACKS CAUSED BY CORROSION ARE ONLY TO BE FEARED IN EXPRESSLY UNFAVOURABLE CONDITIONS.
