摘要: A series of flight tests were performed using three Mode S (formerly the Discrete Address Beacon System (DABS)) sensors for the purpose of determining the capability of each sensor in reporting the true position of an aircraft. For both the Mode S and the Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System (ATCRBS) mode of operation, slant range, and azimuthal position data, as reported by each sensor, were compared to positional data collected concurrently by a precision range instrumentation system at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Technical Center.
