摘要: EARLIER STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THAT THE MEASURING WHEEL OF THE STUTTGART FRICTION METER IS NOT OPTIMALLY DAMPED, SO THAT IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO ELIMINATE ALL DISTURBING VIBRATIONS EMANATING FROM THE STRUCTURE AND THE SUSPENSION OF THE MEASURING VEHICLE WHICH COULD INFLUENCE THE COEFFICIENT OF SLIDING OBTAINED. TO DETERMINE THE ERRORS IN THE MEASUREMENT OF THE COEFFICIENT OF SLIDING WITH RESPECT TO VIBRATION EFFECTS, IT WAS NECESSARY TO MEASURE DYNAMIC WHEEL LOAD AND BRAKING FORCE SIMULTANEOUSLY. AS SOON AS THIS MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUE IS DEVELOPED IT CAN BE USED TO EVALUATE VARIOUS VIBRATION DAMPERS. AS MEASUREMENTS WITH THE STUTTGART FRICTION METER CAN BE UNDERTAKEN ON NORMAL ROADS, VERY PRACTICAL TEST CONDITIONS ARE AVAILABLE. THIS IS THE FINAL BASIC DEVELOPMENT WORK ON THE STUTTGART FRICTION METER WHICH HAS TO BE UNDERTAKEN IN THE INTERESTS OF OPTIMUM MEASURING ACCURACY.
