| 摘要： | This project focuses on median barrier treatments at highway rail intersections, and involves researching literature and existing median barrier installations, evaluating current demonstration tests and documenting the results. The final product shall consist of documentation of median barrier use at highway rail grade crossings and lessons learned, best practices and guidance. Currently, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has or is conducting two demonstration tests of median barrier systems at highway rail intersections in Massachusetts. The MBTA has suggested an independent evaluation of these demonstration projects based on the Federal Railroad Administration's (FRA's) desire to complete this research. This was an FY09 project. |
