THE AIM OF THE RESEARCH IS TO STUDY THE INFLUENCE OF IMPERFECTIONS AND STIFFENERS ON THE DYNAMIC PROPERTIES AND STABILITY OF A PLATE. EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL RESULTS ARE COMPARED, AND IT IS HOPED TO DETERMINE THE LOAD CONDITIONS (IN PARTICULAR THE CRITICAL LOAD) BY IMPULSES. TESTS CARRIED OUT IN 1978 HAVE SHOWN FOR THIN PLATES THAT THE LOAD-IMPULSE CURVE SHOULD FACILITATE THE DETERMINATION OF THE CRITICAL LOAD. A NEW SERIES OF TESTS WILL BE CONDUCTED IN 1979 WITH A VIEW TO DEFINING THE POSSIBILITIES OF THE METHOD. MORE EXTENSIVE THEORETICAL CALCULATIONS TAKING IMPERFECTIONS INTO ACCOUNT WILL BE UNDERTAKEN. |
