THE CONCEPT OF ADHESION IS UTILISED FOR THE STRUCTURE OF ADHESION BONDED JOINTS FOR CLIMATIC CONDITIONS IN THE ALPINE COUNTRIES. PRELIMINARY TESTS INDICATE THAT IT IS CORRECT TO USE THIS CONCEPT. THE COMBINATION OF ANIONIC BITUMEN EMULSIONS WHICH ARE NOT SENSITIVE TO LOW TEMPERATURES AND SYNTHETIC RESINS WITH A VOLATILE ACTION AND A VERY LOW FREEZING TEMPERATURE FACILITATES THE BONDING OF HYDRAULICALLY BOUND NEW SURFACINGS TO OLD WORN ROAD SURFACINGS. THESE ADHESION BONDED JOINTS HAVE VERY LITTLE SENSITIVITY TO TEMPERATURE. THE AIM IS TO OPTIMIZE THE PROPERTIES OF THE INITIAL RESINS, PARTICULARLY WITH RESPECT TO LOW TEMPERATURE ADHESION. |
