摘要: CALCULATION OF THE STATE OF STRESS IN A ROAD PAVEMENT BY MEANS OF THE MULTI-LAYER THEORY HAS BEEN PERFECTED IN RECENT YEARS. HOWEVER PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF THE THEORY IS STILL RESTRICTED, AS KNOWLEDGE OF THE DEFORMATION PROPERTIES OF THE INDIVIDUAL SUPPORTING ELEMENTS AND OF THE STRENGTH BEHAVIOUR OF UNBOUND GRAVEL AND HARDCORE ROADBASES IS INCOMPLETE. SUITABLE PROCEDURES FOR ANALYSING STRENGTH HAVE TO BE DEVELOPED SO THAT WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MATERIAL BEHAVIOUR THIS PROBLEM CAN BE SOLVED BY A THEORETICAL DESIGN METHOD.
