TWENTY YEARS AGO, Paul Revis resigned after seven years as director of the Arkansas Waterways Commission; The American Waterways Operators landed on the 2001 Associations Advance America Honor Roll for its crew alertness program; and Tule Lake Marine Service began selling groceries to vessels in Corpus Christi, Texas. THIRTY YEARS AGO, Xenium Fiberglass Corporation delivered its first set of barge covers from its new Caruthersville, Mo., plant; Gretna Machine & Iron Works Inc. christened and launched a 345-foot ro/ro barge named Waialeale at Harvey, La.; and the Port of New Orleans broke ground on a new $84 million container terminal complex. |
