Erich Mische floated down the Mississippi River from St. Paul, Minn., to Baton Rouge, La., last year on a converted pontoon boat to promote the nonprofit he serves as executive director. A year later, Mische has written a book on the experience titled "Hope On The River: An Unlikely Captain's 1700-Mile Mississippi River Journey On A Leaky Raft To Save His Non-Profit." Mische is executive director of Spare Key, a non-profit that helps families facing a medical crisis pay their bills. It operates in all 50 states, as well as Washington, D.C. He has returned to 10 states adjoining the Mississippi for a book signing tour over the next few weeks. |
