摘要: This document reports the findings of the operational evaluation tests conducted on the Interim Beacon Initiative (IBI) mode, enroute configuration of the Mode Select Beacon System (Mode S) . The tests were conducted at the Parker radar facility in Denver, Colorado, site of the first enroute Mode S system delivery. The Mode S system under test was a fully configured, dual-channel sensor having all required external interfaces connected to actual National Airspace System (NAS) equipment. A combination of system optimization, surveillance performance evaluation, and operational suitability testing were performed as part of this Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&S) effort. Test goals were to ensure proper operation of the Mode S sensor in IBI mode for an enroute configuration, while integrated with appropriate NAS equipment. The tests were conducted in accordance with procedures for OT&E stated in FAA Order 1810.4B. The format of this test report is in accordance with FAA-STD-024b.
