摘要: The Federal Aviation Administration's Office of Civil Aviation Security maintains a record of aircraft hijackings and other significant criminal acts against civil aviation worldwide. These records include actual and attempted hijackings, explosions aboard aircraft, at airports, and at airline offices, and other selected criminal acts against civil aviation. These offenses represent the most serious threats to the safety of civil aviation and carry with them the greatest potential danger to the commercial air traveler. Hijacking incidents are viewed within the context of the Federal criminal statute (40 USC 1472(b)) which defines air piracy as any seizure or exercise of control, by force or violence or threat of force or violence, or by any other form of intimidation, and with wrongful intent, of any aircraft. There is no attempt made in this report to differentiate between an act of air piracy and an attempted act of air piracy. The information contained in this publication is derived from a variety of government and media sources; however, in many cases specific details of a particular incident may not be available, especially those occurring outside the continental United States. While the Federal Aviation Administration makes every effort to provide complete and accurate information, it is not always possible to verify accounts of some events used in this publication. This publication is intended to summarize the significant criminal acts against civil aviation during 1986 and to place the events in perspective within a ten year timeframe.
