摘要: In homebasing the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet squadrons to the East Coast, the Navy intends to construct an outlying landing field (OLF) at Site C in Washington County, North Carolina, to accommodate field carrier landing practice (FCLP) and to mitigate noise caused by the louder aircraft. However, the Navy should not construct an additional OLF to accommodate the relocation of the Super Hornet. Instead, the Navy should continue using the OLF associated with Naval Air Station Oceana, Naval Auxiliary Landing Field (NALF) Fentress in Chesapeake, Virginia because it is the more environmentally and fiscally rational choice.
