Truck Parking Needs in Tennessee
项目名称: Truck Parking Needs in Tennessee
摘要: Whether needed for staging, pick-ups & deliveries or hours-of-service compliance, truck parking is a critical component of supply chain operations. However, there is a huge gap between the demand and supply of truck parking facilities in many states. The purpose of this project is to provide guidance on truck parking issues and opportunities, by identifying parking needs (i.e., addition of capacity and/or construction of new facilities); developing truck parking violation rates (i.e., truck parking on on- and off-ramps) and developing/applying a methodology to identify candidate locations for new truck parking facilities in the State of TN. The following are expected outcomes of this research project:  Develop models and identify new rest areas;  Innovative use of GPS data for truck parking analysis can become a best practice for other state DOTs;  Truck parking strategies with the greatest value and trucking stakeholders that support the Tennessee economy;  Support hours-of-service compliance, unauthorized truck parking and the economic gains that come from highly efficient supply chains;  Help improve safety in the state of Tennessee;  Support budget allocation for truck rest area enhancement and enforcement in Tennessee;
