| 摘要： | In fulfilling its mission of delivering a safe, reliable, and integrated transportation system that enables the movement of goods and people, TxDOT is focused on building and maintaining roads. TxDOT must explore methods beyond adding lanes and pouring concrete; therefore, TxDOT must explore the use of emerging technologies to achieve cost savings, reduce traffic congestion, promote safety, and increase economic activity. To prepare the Texas transportation system for the future, TxDOT must cultivate an environment which facilitates and promotes the preparation and use of emerging technologies. Objectives of this project are to [1.] Conduct outreach, coordination and engage with relevant industries and other state, regional, and local agencies to provide TxDOT with a framework of emerging technologies. [2.] Explore and pursue a portfolio of new and emerging technologies which will affect the Texas transportation system. [3.] Provide recommendations to TxDOT with a plan to prepare for, and utilize those applicable technologies in the future. |
