| 摘要： | The potential of the virtual reality (VR) platform will be investigated, by executing the scenarios from the (Pradhan et al, 2005) and compare the VR drivers� hazard anticipation behavior to the hazard anticipation behavior of another set of drivers who participated on the RTI Simulator. This will give a broader perspective of whether VR is viable platform for driving simulation studies. The study will be focusing on 3 critical issues: (1) Comparing the difference in the proportion of latent hazards detected by older drivers versus younger drivers on the VR driving simulator to the difference in the proportion of latent hazards detected by older drivers vs younger drivers on the RTI driving simulator. (2) Comparing performance of younger drivers on the VR platform to their counterparts on the RTI simulator. (3) Comparing performance of older drivers on the VR platform to their counterparts on the RTI simulator. |
